I provide short, medium, or long-term psychotherapeutic counselling for adults and young people aged 16 and older. I offer sessions face to face in Brighton & Hove, or by video or telephone.
My counselling approach prioritises the relationship between the two of us as a safe and confidential place to explore whatever is going on for you. More about my approach here.
You might be in the midst of a crisis, feeling stressed, overwhelmed or disconnected, or wanting to come to terms with something that happened long ago. Or possibly you are feeling stuck in a cycle of difficult feelings, thoughts and behaviours, or unable to find meaning, peace or happiness in life.
Counselling can help a person to increase self-awareness and deepen understanding about feelings, relationships and behaviour patterns, and to develop strategies and resilience in response to life’s challenges. You might want to find new ways to manage trauma and distress, navigate a life transition, or explore relationship dynamics that are not working for you.

The next step would be to arrange an initial 20-minute conversation by phone or video. It is important to find a counsellor you feel comfortable with, and this session is for us to see whether we feel that we could be a good fit.
I trained in humanistic psychotherapeutic counselling and I have been counselling in Brighton and Lewes since 2017. In addition to my private practice I am a counsellor in a local secondary school, and for three years worked as an honorary counsellor for a local LGBTQ mental health charity.
I work with any issues someone might bring to counselling.
Through my experience, training and research, I have gained a special interest in:
Life transitions and coping with change
Suicidal thoughts and feelings
Mental health diagnoses and recovery
Exploration of sexuality, identity and intimacy, including gay, lesbian, bisexual, heterosexual, asexual and changing or questioning sexuality.
Diversity of gender identity and expression, including trans, non-binary, masculine, feminine and fluctuating gender identity, and its impact on sense of self and relationships
Diversity of relationship models and/or sexual practices, e.g. monogamous, poly, open, casual, kink/BDSM, etc.
More about my experience and training is here.
My fee is £50 per 50-minute session. The initial 20-minute session is free.
Some concession spaces are available, and during the Covid-19 crisis I am not charging front line NHS and care home staff for the first three video, phone or walking therapy sessions.
Fees can be paid in cash, by card or by bank transfer.
